Red Sox: Win Mariners Series, Take on Lowly White Sox Next
By Adam Nazzaro
With the Boston Red Sox taking 2 of 3 games this past weekend against the Seattle Mariners, there were a lot of positives and negatives that came from it.
The Boston Red Sox are on a two game win streak, surprisingly thanks to there pitching. The club hosted the Seattle Mariners this past weekend at Fenway Park, and took the last two games of the series after dropping Friday night’s series opener. The Red Sox (39-29) got two quality starts from pitchers David Price (Sunday) and Rick Porcello (Saturday), as they continue to show signs of dominance in the month of June.
The offense was mediocre for their own standards this past weekend, leaving a total of 23 runners on base through the three game set. There were ups and downs throughout the weekend, but at the end of the day the Red Sox took 2 of 3 games and now only trail 1 game back behind the Baltimore Orioles in the AL East.
