The Boston Red Sox Organization Has Had A Mass Exodus That Continues Year After Year

With Theo Epstein still on his bender that began early Thursday morning, Jed Hoyer in charge of the World Series Chicago Cubs, it makes you think where the Boston Red Sox could be today.

Even former Red Sox hurler Jon Lester is enjoying himself with some of his friends that he’s had for a while. Well since they all played for the Red Sox. Lester, Lackey, and even David Ross!

Diamondbacks To Be The Next Red Sox Built Team

Now there’s another team that’s becoming another place for former Boston Red Sox employees in the Arizona Diamondbacks. It began earlier this offseason with the departure of Mike Hazen who is now the GM in Arizona. Now the Red Sox have lost bench coach Torey Lovullo who accepted the manager position with the team.

So there it is! For the last few weeks it has been pretty evident that they were going to lose Lovullo this offseason but now it’s official. Lovullo went 28-21 over the last month and a half in 2015 when he took over as manager for Farrell when he was undergoing chemotherapy.

Torey Lovullo should have been the manager in 2016. During his short stint as manager he was a much better in game manager than Farrell. When they got swept by the Indians after winning the Division, they should have fired Farrell and gave the baton to Lovullo. Well now he’s gone.

Lovullo was the better in game manager and should’ve become the fulltime manager of the Red Sox. Now you lost him. The Red Sox keep letting their personnel leave and they win elsewhere. Just like the Cubs, Indians, and now the Diamondbacks will actually win. The Diamondbacks will win the NL West in 2017, and the Red Sox will go .500 if lucky.

I don’t care that people are giving the Red Sox 10-1 odds to win it all, which is favorite in the American League, they have lost a ton this offseason. Over the last several years, they have let a ton of talent on and off the field leave and they have tried to overcompensate in replacing them. Every time it has come back to screw them over and this will be no different. The Diamondbacks will win the NL West and the Red Sox will win 3rd place in the AL East.

This is mainly because of the loss of David Ortiz. You can’t replace what he provided on this team. He had too much of a role on and off the field. But still, Lovullo was a huge part of that clubhouse. Lovullo leaving is not good, even if Jason Varitek is the next bench coach of the Red Sox.
