Claude Julien

Claude Julien is in his 10th season as the Head coach of the Boston Bruins. He has led the team to two Stanley Cup Appearances and one Stanley Cup in 2011. Julien’s has a coached the Bruins in 755 games which makes him second to All time great Art Ross. Julien has a 417-244-94 record as the Bruins Head Coach. The past three seasons the Bruins have finished 5th, 3rd, and 4th last year. This would be the longest that the Bruins have gone without making the playoffs. This season could be another one. I do not know if the players are just that bad or is it that they no longer want to play for Claude. The only way to figure that out is to fire Claude.

It would not be a good idea to fire him mid-season, mainly because that would mean Assistant Bruce Cassidy would become the head coach, and I do not think that Cassidy is ready to take on that role. The best option is to let Claude ride out the rest of the season. Even if they do make the playoffs he should still be fired, as they probably will not make it deep in the playoffs.

Claude Coaching style is out-dated and clearly no longer works. He believes in defense first in an offensive league. The league is becoming more about faster and more skilled guys. Claude likes his Veteran “locker room guys” who do not contribute much to the team other than moral support.

Claude Julien Needs to go.
