The Boston Bruins rolled out new-look lines and rolled over the Detroit Red Wings 6-1 Wednesday night at TD Garden.

The Boston Bruins dominated the first period of play over the Detroit Red Wings as they coasted to victory.

Ryan Spooner missed the game with an injury, so the Bruins shook up their lines. The lines were:

Brad Marchand – Patrice Bergeron – David Backes

Drew Stafford – David Krejci – David Pastrnak

Frank Vatrano – Austin Czarnik – Jimmy Hayes

Tim Schaller – Dominic Moore- Riley Nash

Stafford was then able to get more ice time, while Jimmy Hayes returned to the lineup.

Boston put four goals in the Detroit net in the first period, including two from David Krejci. Marchand and Stafford netted the middle two goals in the period.

Krejci’s first goal was a perfect start to the game.

The Bruins still did not slow down. David Krejci scored his second of the night and the Bruins went into the first intermission with a 4-0 lead.

In the second period, Brad Marchand netted another giving him 70 points on the season. His 70 points are the most by a member of the Boston Bruins since Marc Savard’s 88 in 2008-09.

Niklas Kronwall then scored the lone Red Wings goal of the night. Tuukka Rask was superb, stopping 26 shots.

In the third period, David Pastrnak added to the Bruins total.

The Bruins are currently in 7th place in the NHL’s Eastern Conference. They’re three points ahead of the New York Islanders, and four points ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs, but Boston has played two more games than each of those teams. The Bruins are still fighting for their playoff lives, so every game will be crucial down the stretch.
