Boston Red Sox vs Texas Rangers: 3-game series prediction
By Riley Culler
The Red Sox are 5-7 in their last 12 games, and just narrowly avoided a 4-game sweep in Oakland. Now they had back to Boston to host the Texas Rangers for a 3-game series.
The Boston Red Sox have yet to find a groove this season, although it is early you start to wonder when or if they’ll get it together. At 22-21, Boston is 3rd in the AL East about a quarter of the way through the same. At this point last year, the Red Sox were 26-17 after 43 games.
Good news is David Price is set to return in June, hopefully sooner than later. If Price can get a couple starts under his belt Boston should have a stellar pitching rotation. Chris Sale, David Price, Rick Porcello, and Eduardo Rodriquez with Drew Pomeranz as the 5th option.
The Red Sox have been swinging the bat better as of late, but they still rank 16th in runs. Boston is also last in the AL in home runs. It was obvious when David Ortiz retired the Red Sox wouldn’t be as deadly on the offensive side, but this is unexpected.
Boston starts a 6-game home stand starting with Texas, and then hosting Seattle for a 3-game series. Hopefully the Red Sox can start stringing together wins.
