Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will face Drew Brees and the New Orleans Saints on Sunday at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

When the New England Patriots take on the New Orleans Saints on Sunday afternoon, the weather will not be an issue. The game will be played in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome, with a perfectly controlled climate. That should bode well for both Tom Brady and Drew Brees.

Both New England and New Orleans are looking to bounce back from week 1 losses, and this game could turn into a shootout if the defenses can’t figure things out. I fully expect the Patriots to score a ton of points, but I’m anxious to see if the defense can slow Brees and his offense.

Romo in the booth

One of the highlights of watching on television this week will be Tony Romo. The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback is in his first season of retirement, and he made his broadcasting debut last week in the Oakland Raiders and Tennessee Titans game.

Romo was magnificent all game long. He was able to predict and call out plays before they happened, much to the amusement of fans and his broadcast partner Jim Nantz alike.

Tom Brady and Drew Brees should be glad Romo isn’t the opposing defensive coordinator.

This game should be very exciting, and it could end up being a back and forth clash. Brady though will have only three wide receivers for the game with Danny Amendola ruled out. Matthew Slater could have helped if needed, but he’s now been ruled out as well. Chris Hogan, Brandin Cooks, and Phillip Dorsett will have to step up big time. Rob Gronkowski and Dwayne Allen should also be able to carry some of the load.

Our defense is going to step up though, and we hope it’s the Devin McCourty-led Patriots. The pass rush will need to improve, but that’ll be tough with Hightower ruled out.

Next: Behind enemy lines with the New Orleans Saints

For more on this matchup, make sure you check out our Behind Enemy Lines series from week 2, as we spoke with Roy Anderson, an expert for Who Dat Dish. It will be a lot of fun to see who comes out on top this week, and hopefully, it’s New England with their first win of the season.
