New England Patriots: 5 observations from Week 14 loss to Dolphins
By Ben Porter
The New England Patriots 8-game win streak came to an end Monday night. The Patriots were defeated by the Miami Dolphins by a score of 27-20.
Ladies and gentlemen, it is with a heavy heart that I write to you today. The New England Patriots have lost their third game of the season. Their winning streak is over.
Before we get too emotional, I just want to say this. Yes, the Patriots sucked Monday night. Yes, Tom Brady looked awful. That, however, does not concern me in the slightest.
Miami has been somewhat of a Twilight Zone for the defending Super Bowl champs over the past few years. The Upside Down of the NFL, if you will. It’s one of the only places where Tom Brady has a losing record.
For whatever reason, things go wrong at Hard Rock Stadium. But you know who else had trouble in Miami and came back better than ever? That’s right, the cast of the critically acclaimed show Jersey Shore.
I’m not making any excuses. Just telling you the facts. Another, and more important fact is that the New England Patriots need to play better. It’s that simple. You know that, I know that, and they know that. They’re already working to improve. We’re on to Pittsburgh.
Welcome back to my weekly column where I give 5 observations I considered notable enough to write about. It could be a one handed catch, a blown coverage, a bad read by TB12, or just a funny sign I spotted in the stands. Sticking with the Jersey Shore analogy… In the words of Mike the Situation after smashing his head into a concrete wall in season 4, “Let’s do it!”
