ATLANTA, GA – JANUARY 6: Rashaan Evans /

2. LB Rashaan Evans, Alabama

Of course, yet another linebacker from Alabama. Their defense is loaded and the New England Patriots have had previous success drafting this position from the Crimson Tide. Rashaan Evans may be the best linebacker on his team, but he’s still projected as a 3rd or 4th round pick. He could end up being a steal.

Evans, a senior, has played in 11 games for Alabama this season with 66 total tackles, 11.5 tackles for loss, 6.0 sacks. 3 passes defended, a forced fumble, and a fumble recovery. He’s a beast on the field for the Crimson Tide. He’s tremendously athletic and he has the potential to develop into a starting caliber inside linebacker in the NFL. Evans could learn under former Alabama star Dont’a Hightower in New England before he eventually takes over the reigns. If Evans does slip down into the 4th round, don’t be shocked when his name is called and he becomes a new member of the New England Patriots.
