NEW ORLEANS, LA – JANUARY 01: Bo Scarbrough /

5. RB Bo Scarbrough, Alabama

New England may be losing Rex Burkhead, Dion Lewis, and Brandon Bolden in free agency this offseason, leaving just James White and Mike Gillislee on the roster. The Patriots will likely want to find a way to keep both Burkhead and Lewis, but you never know what might happen, so adding a player in the draft is a safe bet.

Alabama’s Bo Scarbrough is an intriguing option, as he is a big back listed at 6’2″ 228lbs. In 2017 so far, he has 573 yards with 4.8 yards per carry, and 8 touchdowns. He has some ability to catch the ball as well with 16 receptions and 108 yards through the air. He’s projected as a 3rd to 5t rounder in this 2018 NFL Draft if he chooses to enter. Scarbrough is just a junior and he could elect to return to Alabama for one final season. We’ll know more in the days following the National Championship Game.
