Boston Celtics: Ranking the top dunkers in modern team history

With All-Star Weekend underway let’s look at some Boston Celtics who have some talent above the rim.

The Boston Celtics don’t have anyone participating in this year’s Slam Dunk competition. There are a ton of great Celtics players, but not a lot of great dunkers. They have a few participants in the dunk contest and even some champions.

So let’s take a look at the best dunkers in Boston Celtics history.

4. Jaylen Brown

This was really hard for me to do because I think Jaylen is a great dunker. Just last night he had an amazing dunk in the rising stars game. The recency bias in me wanted him a spot higher.

That would be pretty stupid though. I feel we need a larger body of work from Brown to move him up in the rankings. Brown is known for his ferocious dunks. He is similar to a Russell Westbrook in the fact that his dunks aren’t all that flashy at times, but it seems like every time he goes to the rim he is trying to shatter the backboard with his powerful slams. Also, like Westbrook he has some ridiculous athleticism. The NBA needs to get this man in a dunk contest.
