After a satisfying Game 7 win on Saturday night against the Milwaukee Bucks, the Boston Celtics look to defeat the Philadelphia 76ers in the Eastern Conference Semifinals.

If you’re a Boston Celtics fan, winning a playoff series even without Kyrie Irving and Gordon Hayward should be no surprise. On Saturday night, the C’s put away the Milwaukee Bucks, 112-97, to clinch their second consecutive first-round win.

Now, Brad Stevens and company have a date with the Philadelphia 76ers starting Monday night in Boston. Philly carries two of the game’s best in Ben Simmons and Joel Embiid. According to Basketball-Reference, Simmons averaged 18 points per game, 9 assists, and 10.6 rebounds on 50 percent shooting, in the Miami Heat series. Embiid was not as dominant but kept offensive playmaker Kelly Olynyk out of the game.

Miami is similar to the Celtics in the sense that they are well-coached and balanced. Regardless, they still had a tough time stopping Philly’s two superstars. Now, Stevens will be tasked with figuring out the perfect match-ups for their second-round contest.

While we await this much anticipated battle, here are three ways the C’s can stave off their Eastern Conference rivals.
