What about LeBron?

LeBron James and the Cavaliers haven’t been keeping anything hidden from the Celtics in the previous 6 games. They don’t have some perfect offense saved for Game 7. The Cavs won’t start trying in Game 7 like they didn’t care in Games 1, 2, or 5. They can’t beat the Celtics in Boston.

Obviously, facing LeBron in a Game 7 is not the ideal scenario. In fact, over the entire history of basketball, it might be the worst case scenario. LeBron could take matters into his own hands for his eighth straight Finals appearance, on his worst Cavs team yet. He could beat an entire team by himself. The best player on planet Earth could show the world once again why he should never be doubted.

Except he has been doing this all series. LeBron has been the entire team since Kyrie realized he wanted out last summer. He played all 82 games and Cleveland went 50-32. He played all but 48 minutes against Indiana. All but 25 against Toronto. So far, all but 48 against the Celtics. And the Cavs are 11-6. LeBron can’t win every game by himself, nevermind a Game 7 against a great team.

And he just had that legendary performance in Game 6. He basically got the media coverage and recognition for winning Game 7. Everyone treated LeBron like he had just won the NBA Finals after a Game 6 that didn’t even clinch a series win.
