2. Ryan Donato

Ryan Donato didn’t get a ton of playing time last season, but I think he will be a star in the NHL. After his college season ended, Donato was signed to the Bruins.

He only played in 12 games but showed some great talent. Donato scored 5 goals and 4 assists in his short stint in the NHL.

In the postseason Donato didn’t get a lot of playing time. A decision Bruce Cassidy probably regrets. Donato never really got a chance to get his playoff feet under him.

Donato showed great hockey I.Q. last season. He knows exactly where to be, and knows how to get in the best position to score.

Donato spent most of his time on the Bruins second line and that will probably be where he ends up next season (as long as the Bruins don’t make any moves).

With a full season, I think Donato can be one of the Bruins top scorers. I expect Donato to put up close to 40 points next season.

Just like Charlie McAvoy, Donato could be a homegrown player who has lots of success with the Boston Bruins.
