Trent Brown is a big, big man

Who fills the void left by Nate Solder at left tackle?

Well, there is no bigger option than newly acquired offensive line man Trent Brown.

Acquired in an offseason deal from the San Francisco 49ers, Brown as the size and attributes to a good addition to the New England Patriots offensive lineman.  He would certainly be a project if the team does use him to protect Tom Brady’s blindside, but a project that could pay dividends if he works out.

Addressing how Brown has adjusted so far with his new team, Bill Belichick talked about his good start so far.

"“He’s gotten off to a good start here in camp,” Belichick said.  “He’s got a long way to go.  Our system is different than what he’s been in, what CP [Cordarrelle Patterson] has been in, what Danny has been in.  Those guys are working hard to pick up and do what we are asking them to do, what we’re trying to do.  I’m glad we have him and we’ll see how it goes.”"

At 6-foot9, 380 pounds, Belichick has also praised Trent Brown’s size and athleticism.  He is probably one of the biggest offensive linemen the New England Patriots have ever had.

He will definitely have to play big to do the things the team will need him to do this upcoming season.
