The Boston Red Sox put together another 10-run outburst to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays in the second game of a three-game series Wednesday night at Rogers Centre.

All you can do is sit back and shake your heads at this point.  The Boston Red Sox continue to feast on bad teams with a relentless approach at the plate.

In scoring 10 runs in Wednesday night’s 10-5 victory over the Toronto Blue Jays, Boston’s bats have scored 19 runs in the last 12 innings against Blue Jays pitching.  Not only that, the team is on an amazing pace to win 115 games after improving their record to 81-34.

With J.D. Martinez, Rafael Devers and Andrew Benintendi amongst others leading the way, Red Sox starting pitcher Brian Johnson was staked to a quick 4-0 lead and held his own the rest of the way.

Although he allowed five runs on six hits through seven innings, Johnson is simply doing his job when called upon.  Call him lucky with the run support, but his spot starts have resulted in victories for the team and that’s all Red Sox manager Alex Cora could ask for.

"“He did an outstanding job,” Cora said, via MLB.com.  I know they scored five runs and people are going to say, ‘Why did he pitch the seventh?’ but we needed a seventh.  We were in the bullpen and for him to go seven innings, that was excellent for us.”"

What was more excellent was the team’s approach at the plate.  Relentless is a word consistently used for this team, but that is exactly what they are.  That is one reason why they are never out of a game not matter what the score.

With the victory, the Boston Red Sox maintain a nine-game lead over the New York Yankees and have won six straight games.

With the spotlight on the offense following another 10-run outburst, here are the three players who led the way in the team’s 81st victory of the year.
