GAME 2: August 31st – Friday: Red Sox @ White Sox 8:10PM (EST)

Probable Pitchers:

  • Boston – (R) Nathan Eovaldi (5-6)
  • Chicago – (R) Michael Kopech (1-0)

Nathan Eovaldi looked great in his first two starts after being acquired by the Rays, since then, not so much. Eovaldi is 0-2 in his last two starts, giving up 9 earned runs and 18 hits. Eovaldi gave up 0 earned runs and only 7 hits in his first two starts, he’ll look to return to that form on Friday night.

This is Kopech’s 2nd start of the season, the 22-year-old is getting his first taste of the majors. Kopech won his last start and only gave up 1 earned run in 6 innings pitched. Facing Boston’s juggernaut lineup will truly test this young gun, it will be very impressive if he’s able to keep them in check.

Prediction: Win

Boston will give Eovaldi just enough run support in this one to give him his 3rd win since being acquired by them. Kopech will pitch well, but pitching well against the hottest lineup in baseball doesn’t mean much. Boston just will sneak away with a win in this one.

  • Red Sox 4 – White Sox 3

  • W (Eovaldi)

  • L (Kopech)
