Boston Red Sox vs Chicago White Sox: 4-game series prediction
By Riley Culler
GAME 3: September 1st – Saturday: Red Sox @ White Sox 7:10PM (EST)
Probable Pitchers:
- Boston – (L) Eduardo Rodriquez (11-3)
- Chicago – (L) Carlos Rodon (6-3)
Boston’s young ace is making his first start in over a month, after being on the DL for having ligament damage in his ankle. It is unsure is E-Rod is on a pitch count, but he will be watched closely. Before the injury, Rodriquez was 2-0 in his last 3 starts; giving up 0 earned runs in 17 innings pitched.
Like Rodriquez, Carlos Rodon has been hot in his last few starts. Rodon is 3-0 in his last 5 starts, allowing only 7 earned runs in 35 innings pitched. Now in his 4th season, the 25-year-old was in the minors until just the beginning of june, but has proved worthy of the call up since then.
Prediction: Win
Although Eduardo Rodriquez is returning from a month+ long stint on the DL, he shouldn’t have any issues returning to top form after taking his recovery slow. Rodon won’t make it easy for the Red Sox hitter’s, but they’ve never been a group to back down from a challenge. Expect a low scoring affair in this one as E-Rod gets his 12th win of the season.
