New England Patriots have a must win game against the AFC East leading Miami Dolphins this Sunday at Gillette Stadium. There are 3 points of emphasis heading into the Week 4 matchup.

Randy Moss, Wes Welker and even Julian Edelman is not walking through that door, but that doesn’t mean the New England Patriots offense doesn’t have the players to get it down, especially when that man Tom Brady is still at quarterback.

Following a solid win against the Houston Texans in Week 1, the Patriots have stunk it up in two consecutive weeks.  Although the loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars was tough to swallow, that was a good, solid team.  The loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday night, however, raised huge concerns on both sides of the ball.

At 1-2, the Patriots are now facing a must-win game against the 3-0 Miami Dolphins.  The team obviously has some things to fix and it starts with the offense.

The last two weeks, Tom Brady and company have failed to sustain drives.  They have looked overmatched and disorganized at times.  Yes, there is a lack of weapons, but execution and play calling can help solve some of the team’s issues in simply converting on third down.

So, the first point of emphasis is finding a way to get off to a quick start offensively.

In his weekly interview with Westwood One’s Jim Gray on Monday night, Tom Brady highlighted exactly what his offensive unit has to find a way to do to help the team get back to their winning ways.

"“Offensively, we’ve gotta stay on the field.  We’ve gotta convert on third down,” Brady emphasized.  “We had two short yardage opportunities we didn’t convert.  We had a few opportunities in the past game to convert and we didn’t.”"

Those missed opportunities allowed the Jaguars and Lions to get off to quick starts offensively.  In doing so, each defense gained more and more confidence as the games went on.  That led to Brady showing frustration on the field which didn’t help in the team’s effort to find an offensive rhythm.
