1. Stopping Showtime

If the Patriots want to have any chance of defeating the Chiefs in Week 6 they need to stop Patrick Mahomes.

Mahomes has taken the NFL by storm. So far this season Mahomes has over 1,500 yards, 14 touchdowns and has only thrown 2 interceptions.

These numbers are great on their own. When you add in the fact that this is Mahomes first season starting, the numbers are rather incredible.

Mahomes is similar to a guy like Russel Wilson who can extend the play with his feet. The Patriots need to contain Mahomes and make him rush his throws.

A lot of the responsibility is on the Patriots front seven. The defensive line needs to cause pressure.

This season Adrian Clayborn has struggled to get to the quarterback and has too often let guys blow by him. If Clayborn can get in Mahomes grill it would help the Patriots out a lot.

I also am expecting the Patriots to be blitzing a lot on Sunday night. It’s the only way they can try and stifle the rookie. If the Patriots are causing pressure I think Mahomes could have a rough game.
