New England Patriots got spanked in their Week 10 battle with the Tennessee Titans in all three phrases of the game.

The last time the New England Patriots got whipped like they did Sunday afternoon against the Tennessee Titans, the team went on to win their next six games.

Going into their Bye week, the Patriots will have a lot to think about following a 34-10 beatdown in the Music City.  Out of tune the entire game, Julian Edelman knows his team better learn from the beating they took at the hands of a Titans team that smelled blood right from the get go.

"“You better learn from a game like this, because the weeks get harder and harder,” Edelman said following the game.  “They’re well coached and have good players.  You tip your hat to them, but we got to go out and we’ve got to watch this film and we’ve got to fix it because this is when you start separating or you start falling behind.”More from Chowder and Champions3 Midseason Chaim Bloom Decisions That Have Killed the 2023 Red Sox10 Patriots Who Will Be Cut by Tuesday’s Roster DeadlineMLB Screws Red Sox Fans With Broadcast for Mookie Betts Return3 Most Underpaid Celtics Heading Into the 2023 SeasonRed Sox Continue Rollercoaster Season With Massive Win"

From the opening kickoff to the last minute of the game, the New England Patriots were simply outplayed.  For anyone watching the game live or on TV, it just seemed the team was already looking past the Titans and onto an off week.

On both sides of the ball, Bill Belichick’s crew just didn’t execute and at times seemed like their heads were not in the game.  Tom Brady struggled and probably had his worst game in quite a while.  The 41-year-old quarterback was under pressure most of the game.

Uncharacteristically, Brady completed just 51.2 percent of his passes for 254 yards with no touchdowns or interceptions.  At times he just seemed off and was forcing the ball to both Josh Gordon and Julian Edelman.

The defense didn’t help the matter.  Again, they made a mediocre quarterback in Marcus Mariota look like an All-Pro.  Stephon Gilmore, consistently the team’s best defensive player, like wide receiver Corey Davis look like the next coming of Jerry Rice. Add that to no real push up front and it was just an overall long day for the New England Patriots in all facets of the game.

Despite the awful showing, the Patriots are still 7-3 and have a chance to fix a lot of issues on both sides of the ball, get healthy and simply learn from their meltdown in the Music City.

With six games left in the regular season, this Bye week is the time to get right and get back to the fundamentals that make a Bill Belichick coached team the type of team that can beat anyone, anywhere on any given Sunday.

Julian Edelman apologizes for team’s performance

Julian Edelman left the game late in the fourth quarter with an ankle injury but was one of the few bright spots on the team during the game.

With nine receptions for 104 yards, Edelman looked more like the Edelman of old, but it doesn’t mean a thing when his team gets beatdown like they did Sunday afternoon in Nashville.

Following the game, a very disgruntled Julian Edelman offered fans an apology for the lackluster performance.

"“I’m sorry we disappointed some of the fans that were out here for us,” Edelman said. “They were heavily populated here. But we’ve got to go back to New England and get back to work.”"

The New England Patriots better get back to work and show more of a sense of urgency in the remaining games or they could see themselves playing on Wild Card weekend.
