4. November 22, 1984: Cowboys 20, Patriots 17

The 1984 New England Patriots were a fairly solid team with a 9-7 record. They were so close to a Thanksgiving Day win in their first such game, but they came up just short in the end, on the road in Dallas.

The Cowboys jumped out to a 17-3 lead by the third quarter, but the Patriots were not going to go away quietly. Dallas scored in the first quarter as Michael Downs intercepted Tony Eason and took it to the house. A Cowboys field goal was bookended by a Tony Hill TD from Danny White. The Patriots were still in it though thanks to Tony Franklin‘s three points.

New England began their comeback in the fourth quarter as they rallied back to tie the game. Tony Eason tossed a 1-yard pass to Derrick Ramsey for a score, and he ran another in on his own to tie it all up. Unfortunately, the Cowboys got the chance to win the game, and they took advantage of it. Rafael Septien hit a field goal from 23-yards out to give Dallas the win.
