1. David Backes is one lucky guy

Tuesday night could have been a horrible one for David Backes, but luckily he is doing well.

Hockey is obviously a very dangerous sport, but some occurrences are one in a million. Bruins fans witnessed one of these on Tuesday night.

Taking a skate blade to the face is definitely not fun. Thankfully David Backes is okay and ended up returning to the game rather quickly.

This type of injuries are always scary. We saw what happened to Clint Malarchuk when he got a skate blade to the neck. The goalie almost died.

The fact that Backes returned so quickly shows just how tough hockey players are.

It didn’t matter how many goals or assists had on Tuesday night, we were all glad to see that he was okay and didn’t need any serious medical attention.
