 3B – Mike Moustakas

The Boston Red Sox and Mike Moustakas have been linked all season long. Moose was traded to the Milwaukee Brewers this past trade deadline, and he made a good case for himself as he entered free agency.

in 2018 he hit 28 HR between the two clubs (20 with the Royals, 8 with the Brewers) and in 2017 he 38 long balls, the highest of his career. Moustakas was a key part of the Royals’ postseason success in 2014 and 2015.

In 67 postseason games with the KC, Moustakas went 26/117 (.222 AVG) and hit 6 HR for 15 RBI en route to winning the 2015 World Series after coming up short in 7 games the year before.

He definitely has the postseason experience needed to help Boston repeat. Third base is a tricky situation due to the fact that Rafael Devers currently occupies the position. It couldn’t hurt to add a veteran to help Devers help and develop in order to be the third basemen of the future for the Boston Red Sox.
