The Boston Red Sox had many players step up in route to their 2018 World Series championship, but here are the five unsung heroes of the regular season.

The 2018 Boston Red Sox were a fun team to watch throughout the season and throughout the playoffs.  There were some great performances that led to the team’s ninth World Series championship, but there were some players who didn’t get enough credit for the team posting a 108-54 record in the regular season.

Adapting the energy and resiliency of first-year manager Alex Cora, the 2018 Red Sox team produced some big-time individual performances from stars such as Mookie Betts, J.D. Martinez, Chris Sale (when healthy) and even closer Craig Kimbrel.

Those were the players who did what they were supposed to do.  As the team’s big-name stars, those players, along with David Price came through on a consistent basis for the team. But, which players stepped up when those players didn’t produce or were out of the lineup?

Collectively, the Red Sox were a team that had fun from Spring Training to the final pitch of the World Series.  They were a team that believed in each other and in their manager.

While there were many players who had clutch moments, here are the five unsung heroes of the 2018 MLB regular season.
