Julian Edelman

With 850 yards receiving this season, 32-year-old wide receiver Julian Edelman hasn’t been his usual explosive self.

Coming back from a torn ACL and four-game suspension to start the season has a little to do with that.  Though he has had some uncharacteristic drops and has had a little problem with unnecessary roughness, expect Edelman to be ready to shine on the playoff stage like he always does.

As the team’s All-time receptions leader, Edelman’s physicality and mental toughness will come through.  His ability to catch the ball in the middle of the field will be key for Tom Brady, especially if he has to get rid of the ball quicker against defenses like the Los Angeles Chargers.

As far as his quickness and explosiveness goes, there were points during the end of the 2018 NFL regular season where he looked to be slowed by some sort of injury, but he looked more like Julian Edelman in the final two weeks of the season.  Expect that to continue in the playoffs.

With the game and season on the line, you better believe there will be important plays made by No. 11, especially after he has had to watch the team’s playoff run from the sidelines a season ago.
