Boston Red Sox: 3 regular season goals for Andrew Benintendi in 2019
By Justin Keene
Coming off a strong 2018 campaign, Andrew Benintendi looks to breakout for the Boston Red Sox in 2019.
Ever since Boston Red Sox outfielder Andrew Benintedi first stepped onto a big league field in 2016, he has been a phenom; especially in Boston. From his clean swing, bromance with Brock Holt, and spectacular plays in the outfield, whats not to love about the 24-year-old.
Entering his third full season in the big leagues, Andrew Benintendi is set to have an even better year than he did last season. With a switch to the leadoff spot coming in 2019, Benny could have an even more productive year than years past.
Batting first in what could easily be the best offense in baseball is always a daunting task, but if Benintendi is able to prove he is suitable for it, his offensive stats could be through the roof. Just being a left-handed bat at Fenway Park in it of itself gives Benny the potential to thrive offensively. It is only a matter of time before opposing pitchers fear him when he steps into the box, if it hasn’t gotten to that point already.
With the Red Sox flirting with the idea of extending one of their core players, Benintendi could have even more motivation in a title defense year. Regardless, he should be in for an even better 2019 campaign, let’s take a look a few goals for him this season.
