3.  The closing situation is just fine

There were a lot of concerns about the Boston Red Sox’s closing situation. Craig Kimbrel is no longer on the team. That left a humongous hole in the bullpen.

Before the season Alex Cora spoke about the issue and hinted at using a closer by committee approach. This sounded like a bad idea.

So far the bullpen is doing rather well. They have gotten a lot of work with the starting rotation getting off to bad starts.

The only closer we have seen so far is Matt Barnes and he was able to clinch the only win for the Red Sox striking out two batters in the 9th.

So things aren’t looking so good for the Red Sox this season. Lucky for them the MLB season is a long one so even though it is frustrating they can stumble out of the gate.

Hopefully the Red Sox will get back to their winning ways sooner rather than later.
