Jaxx Groshans

Here is a guy that the Boston Red Sox should be excited about and project to be on the major league roster one day as he develops himself into a stronger and consistent offensive weapon at the  catcher position.

Jaxx Groshans, a product out of the University of Kansas is a very intelligent catcher behind the dish defensively, which can translate beautifully as he works his way up the ranks. This is key as that is something that slows many catching prospects down.

Through his 2019 season as a Jayhawk, Jaxx batted .340 with 12 homers, 46 RBIs, 14 doubles, 49 runs, and a .475 on-base percentage. That is pretty efficient for a catcher right there.

Groshans was a big long ball and doubles guy, so if he can continue to find gaps and cheap seats, we could hear Dennis Eckersley calling out on NESN “and Jaxx goes ‘bridge ” many times moving forward.

The biggest question mark on Jaxx is if he can be consistent moving forward moving forward offensively.

This 2019 season was the first year of his college career where he really played at this tier. With the Red Sox ability of the coaching staff to progress players along with the catching position not being particularly strong, keep an eyeball on Jaxx starting now.
