3. A perfect time to leave

The thing that scares you about the move is the timing. The Celtics are in a very fragile state at the moment. If Al Horford was going to leave the Celtics now would be the time.

Next season it looks like your main guys are going to be Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. It will be sink or swim for these young players. Will they rise up to the challenge or fail spectacularly?

Horford’s time in the NBA is drawing to a close. He just turned 33-years-old and there is only one thing left for him to accomplish. Horford wants a championship.

We may see Horford take a pay cut, but there is no guarantee that it would be for the Boston Celtics. I wouldn’t be all that surprised if he went and signed with a contender in the west.

I really hope that Al Horford stays with the Boston Celtics, because he is a great player to watch and is a key part of this team. If he was to leave it would be a major blow the C’s.
