Boston Celtics: Give fans what they want and sign Tacko Fall
By Mike Caliri
It is time for the Boston Celtics to sign Tacko Fall.
Before the Boston Celtics get him under contract, even if he goes to the Maine Red Claws, Tacko Fall is in jeopardy of being signed by another team.
Signing Fall now does somewhat limit what the Celtics are able to do in terms of making trades, but any deal they make probably isn’t going to get them any closer to the conversation of title contention.
It might be foolish to make that statement because who knows what kind of deal Danny Ainge could pull off, but it is doubtful Ainge would shake things up drastically after just putting together this current roster.
The Celtics should just see what this team can do. Their roster is impressive, with a mix of young talent and solid veterans, they will be a strong contender in the East. In a few years, they could be a powerhouse. Sign Tacko Fall, bolster up the front court, and he could prove to be a valuable asset down the road.
This team is already looking like it will be a lot of fun to watch this season.
It’s very appropriate that after one of the worst seasons to watch in franchise history, Celtics fans are getting a season that is shaping up to be awesome.
Tacko Fall Isn’t Just a Novelty Act
Aside from being a visual spectacle and an extremely fun player to watch, Tacko Fall has potential and signing him is very low risk/high reward.
If the Boston Celtics can develop him correctly and put some more muscle on him, he could be a force in the NBA.
He stands at 7’6” and about 300 pounds, which for him, might be a little underweight.
If he can put on some weight and muscle and avoid injury, he will be a nightmare for opposing defenses in the paint.
Not to mention all the marketing opportunities.
It should be a no-brainer for the Celtics to sign Tacko Fall.
