The New England Patriots (3-0) are set with an AFC East showdown with the Buffalo Bills (3-0) in a Week 4 battle at New Era Field.

In a battle of perfection in this Week 4 matchup between the New England Patriots and Buffalo Bills all eyes will be on whether the team from upstate New York will put the defending Super Bowl champions to the test in an early AFC East battle for the top spot in the division.

If you are a Patriots fan, you have been here before over the last decade.  There is always an AFC East time that flies out of the gate primed to knock Bill Belichick, Tom Brady and the crew off the throne.

The Bills appear to be that team early on in the season.  The difference between this season and seasons past is that the Patriots already appear in mid-season form despite some injuries in key places on the offensive side of the ball.

Coming into this Week 4 battle, both teams are undefeated and both teams have been impressing the league with stellar defense.  The difference is, the New England Patriots have Mr. Tom Brady at cornerback who has a history of torching the Bills no matter who he is throwing the ball to.

There is no Rob Gronkowski, but Josh Gordon has become that big weapon that a talented Bills’ secondary will surely be focused on.

With the running game struggling a bit with a battered offensive line and Sony Michel having a slow start, the Bills’ defensive line can also make life difficult on Tom Brady for this particular game.  It will be intriguing what kind of game plan Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels throws at a hungry Bills’ defense.

Defensively, the Patriots have been lights out and that should continue against a young quarterback in Josh Allen.  The one thing they will have to contest against is the mobility of the second-year quarterback and keeping him in the pocket.

Overall, a big test and challenge for Bill Belichick’s team and he knows they have to be ready:

"“We’ve got a lot to get ready for, a good team, well coached, very sound all the way through in all three phases of the game, got a lot of good players, a lot of experience, a lot of guys who know what they’re doing and have done it for a while, have done it against us, done it well. We’ll have to be ready to meet those challenges.”"
