1. Devin McCourty

So far the MVP of the New England Patriots defense has to be Devin McCourty. He is without a doubt having the best season of his entire career.

If you are averaging an interception per game it is really hard to complain. We all were expecting another great season from Stephon Gilmore (he hasn’t let us down). The fact that McCourty is playing so well at 32 years old is a testament to his fitness and work ethic.

Also it shows just how good New England’s defense is. Teams are staying away from throwing at guys like Gilmore so when McCourty is helping out over the top he is able to make some plays.

If McCourty is able to continue to dominate he might even when the defensive MVP award. If he ends the season with 16 interceptions how do you not give it to him?

There were rumors that McCourty might want to retire but if he is still playing this well I think he still has some gas left in the tank.
