The New England Patriots (4-0) head down to take on the winless Washington Redskins (0-4) in an interconference collision at FedexField Stadium.

It will be a short week for the New England Patriots following this matchup against the Washington Redskins.  That’s why it will be important to take care of business quick and easy against a team that is lacking confidence and quickly faltering.

With Colt McCoy getting the start for the Redskins, the Patriots’ defense should continue their display of dominance.  Jay Gruden’s team does have some weapons in wide receiver Terry McLaurin and tight end Jordan Reed.

In fact, with Patrick Chung downgraded to out in this game, the matchup against Reed and the Redskins tight ends might be a weakness Washington might look to exploit.

As deep as the Patriots’ defense is, there will be an opportunity for someone else to step up.  If second round pick JoeJuan Williams is active for this game, he may get a chance to get some snaps.

His length and size could be utilized against pass catching tight ends like Reed and Vernon Davis.

Offensively, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots playmakers will look to get it going again after looking pedestrian against the Buffalo Bills in Week 4.  They need to come out sharp, quick and execute against a Redskins’ defense that has been near the bottom of the league through the first four weeks of the season.

But, they are an NFL defense and Brady knows it will still be a challenge if his unit doesn’t come out on the same page, especially on the road.

"“Yeah, it’s a good chance for us to try to go on the road again and try to play good football,” Brady said during his press conference on Friday.   “So, we’re 2-0 (on the road) at this point, which is pretty good, but it’s going to be a challenge down there. They do a good job, and [we will] try to go down there and play well.”"
