With the New England Patriots defense playing at a high level, there are many players to choose from on all three levels who will be predicted to make big plays in this one.

Linebackers Jamie Collins and Kyle Van Noy are sure bets to be solid, but also expect one of the team’s quieter contributors to make some big plays defensively.

Coming into the game with 14 combined tackles and 2.0 sacks, John Simon is starting to look like Rob Ninkovich.  With is ability to rush the passer and drop back in pass coverage, the versatility of Simon is one of the more underrated aspects of the Patriots defense.  Also, one of the least talked about.

In this game, John Simon will have some heavy pressure on Colt McCoy.  If he doesn’t get there completely, there will be a batted ball or two, perhaps even leading to a turnover.

Along with Michael Bennett, Chase Winovich and Deatrich Wise (if elgible), there will be some heavy pressure off the edge which will make a long day for McCoy and the Redskins’ offense.
