Last matchup – Week 3 2019: New England Patriots 30, New York Jets 14

This was the post-Antonio Brown game in which Josh Gordon showed off his toughness with two highlight reel catches as the New England Patriots went on to beat the Luke Falk led New York Jets 30-14.

This was also the game in which Julian Edelman suffered a chest injury near the end of the first half.  Prior to that game he was on tap for a monster game as Tom Brady and the offense looked like they never needed Antonio Brown.

The Patriots defense of course was dominant as they didn’t allow a point from the Jets offense.  The only two scores by the Jets came on a muffed point on special teams by undrafted rookie wide receiver Gunner Olszewski and a pick-6 off rookie quarterback Jarrett Stidham in garbage time.

Other than the two turnovers and injuries to Edelman and Gordon, it was an overall dominant game by the Patriots as they jumped out early and didn’t look back.
