The New England Patriots (6-0) prepare to take on Sam Darnold, Le’Veon Bell and the New Jets (1-4) in a Monday night showdown at MetLife Stadium.

The New England Patriots know they are in for a test on both sides of the ball going up against a New York Jets team that is suddenly rejuvenated coming off a big win against the Dallas Cowboys fueled by the return of quarterback Sam Darnold.

While the Patriots defense will obviously be a major factor in this one, how Tom Brady and the offense performs early will tell how this game will go.

If the offensive line can’t hold its own and it shows in the first few drives of the game, the offense will struggle.  Having a veteran tight end like Ben Watson available should help some, but with Josh Gordon ruled out and no Rex Burkhead available, Brady will have to find production out of someone other than Julian Edelman or James White.

The Patriots also have to stick to trying to establish the run in this one.  It will be tough against a Jets physical defense, but if Sony Michel can get going, things will become a lot easier for Tom Brady.

The difference in this game versus the last time these two teams matched up is obviously at quarterback where a healthy Sam Darnold is back under center.  Patriots head coach knows his defense will be facing a different animal led by the second-year ball slinger.

"“He’s a good quarterback. We saw him at the end of the year last year. He played in the Buffalo game. But, he can make all the throws,” Belichick said of Darnold, via Patriots.com.  “Big, strong kid. He can run. Short, intermediate, deep. He’s got good weapons. Anderson’s a great deep receiver, [Jamison] Crowder, [Braxton] Berrios are very good players in the slot. Bell, obviously is – I mean, how many backs better than him in the league, in terms of the run game and the passing game? They can split him out, they can get him the ball in the backfield. He’s a very versatile player.”"
