Establish the running game

The New England Patriots rank 25th in the league in terms of rushing yards. Something that wasn’t expected prior to this season.

In last season’s playoffs,  the Patriots were able to rip apart the Los Angeles Chargers, and Kansas City Chiefs defense with Sony Michel. This category was really the only thing that could save them entering this season without Rob Gronkowski.

But what separates this season from last?

Center David Andrews being sidelined for the 2019 season is definitely a reason worth mentioning. Poor play from Shaq Mason/ Marcus Cannon? Sony Michel looking banged up? All  these reasons tie into play.

With plenty of season left, the New England Patriots will continue to try to find what is missing from this running attack.

When they do, it will ultimately open up the rest of the offense.  But, it all starts with the offensive line play and getting Sony Michel back to the player he was during the stretch run last season.
