4. Derrick Favors

A big man who can help on defense is New Orleans Pelicans forward Derrick Favors.

Average 10.0 rebounds a game, Favors is the type of big-banging big man with some touch on offense who could help the Boston Celtics in a playoff series against a team like the Philadelphia 76ers.

Though Favors doesn’t have the height, he does have the body to frustrate a Joel Embiid down low.

This name has come up before when it comes to the Celtics, but his availability will all depend on which direction the Pelicans feel they are going in when the trade deadline comes.

As of now, Derrick Favors is a nice piece to have in the front court alongside 2019 No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson.

But, if New Orleans can get some more assets to help their young squad beyond this year, moving his $16 million expiring contract would be a nice trade piece that would attract a team like the Celtics, who could use Favors short term and benefit from the expiring contract once the season is over.

Favors has also played with Gordon Hayward during their days with the Utah Jazz, so there would be some familiarity to his game and how he would fit with the Boston Celtics.
