Now that the Kansas City Chiefs have won the Super Bowl and Patrick Mahomes is the king of the AFC, New England Patriots fans no longer need to worry about Boston sports hater Nick Wright, especially with Tom Brady in the NFC South.

One would think, but the “First Things First” host couldn’t help taking a subtle shot at Patriots fans with his take that the team wouldn’t be Super Bowl contenders in 2020 with or without Brady.

As the roster stands right now, he may have a point, but that doesn’t make him any less annoying if you are a diehard Boston sports fan.

Here is what he had to say Tuesday on the FOX Sports 1 show:

Well, Nick Wright, in an unpredictable league like the NFL, counting any Bill Belichick coached team out in early Spring may come back to bite him.  Of course, with the Patriots no longer having Tom Brady at the helm, Wright is going to take his shots at Patriots fandom, and that’s fine.

As far as Brady goes, the “First Things First” is calling him the worst quarterback in the AFC South.  Given the talent at the position from within the division, that may not be a bad presumption.  With the offensive weapons Tom Brady will have in Tampa, Mr. Wright may be eating those words as well.

He usually does.
