New England Patriots: These 3 Tom Brady haters still hating
Max Kellerman
Max Kellerman is actually still a believer in the New England Patriots without Tom Brady.
As he hasn’t been quite the hater as Rob Parker over the years, the ESPN “First Take” co-host has Stephen A. Smith constantly shaking his head over his takes when it comes to Brady.
While the 42-year-old quarterback hasn’t fallen off the cliff as Kellerman predicted two Super Bowl victories ago, he does give credit to the Patriots system as to why no Tom Brady doesn’t equate to a demise of the dynasty.
During a segment of “First Take” on Tuesday, Max Kellerman throws more shade at Brady by giving more of the credit for the team’s sustained success to Bill Belichick as he believes there is no reason Jarrett Stidham couldn’t take over and be successful.
"“…The point is, Belichick as GM constructs a team where he allocates resources – ‘This is how I can best put us in a position to win the. Most games’ – and then as a coach puts those pieces in position,” Kellerman said, as transcribed by NESN. “When you have an expensive and aging quarterback, there’s only so much you can do. Now there’s an upcoming draft. They don’t have a lot of money to spend in free agency. Let’s see what Belichick does.”"
So far, Bill Belichick hasn’t done much to improve the team. Not only has Tom Brady walked out the door, so has Kyle Van Noy, Jamie Collins, Danny Shelton and Elandon Roberts.
Is there a plan?
If so, it doesn’t seem apparent following free agency.
So, while Max Kellerman does give Tom Brady his due credit, he is discrediting his part in the New England Patriots dynasty. Yes, the team may just continue to win without Brady, but saying they are better off in upcoming 2020 NFL season is a stretch unless Jarrett Stidham is the real deal.
To sum this all up Buccaneers fans, you are not only getting Tom Brady, you are also getting the nauseum of Nick Wright, Rob Parker and Max Kellerman.
Enjoy!
