Xander Bogaerts is the face of the Boston Red Sox.

Another player who will be interesting to watch at the plate is Xander Bogaerts. Fresh off a nice extension and a career year he will look to continue to prove that the Boston Red Sox made a smart investment.

He definitely proved that in 2019. Bogaerts put up career-high totals in home runs and RBIs. The talented shortstop even found himself getting some AL MVP votes.

In a rather quick period of time, Xander Bogaerts has become a leader on the team. He is entering his 8th year with the team even though he is only 27. He has plenty of gas left in the tank. J.D. Martinez has been in the league longer but “X” knows what it’s like to play in Boston and has grown up in the organization.

When you look at the Red Sox, Bogaerts is one of the faces of the organization. Hopefully, he ends up spending his entire career with the team.

Besides having a great bat, Bogaerts performs rather well in the field. He is able to make some spectacular plays. He just needs to limit his mistakes with double-digit errors being committed last season.

Hopefully, Boston will learn from the Betts debacle and ensure that they don’t let a player like Xander Bogaerts slip from their grasp.
