Boston Red Sox OF Andrew Benintendi has his chance to shine.

The Boston Red Sox will be looking for a much better season from Andrew Benintendi in 2020 (especially if he is going to be the leadoff man).

Benintendi had a subpar 2019 season. His batting average dipped and he also had a career-high strikeout total. Benny Ballgame also dealt with some injury problems.

The Red Sox will need a much more consistent Andrew Benintendi if they want to succeed. He needs to get on base no matter the way. You can’t have a leadoff man batting close to .250.

Benintendi can hit for power but this season the most important thing will just be hitting the ball. Hopefully, Andrew Benintendi can get his batting average closer or above .300.

We know that Benintendi is great defensively. He can use his speed and skill to track down balls and also has quite the arm. They call him “Benny Biceps” for a reason.

Benintendi will turn 26 this year. It will be interesting to see how he performs this season. If Benintendi wants to become more than just your average outfielder he will need to start putting up better numbers.

So will we see an improved Andrew Benintendi or will we have to question his spot in the Red Sox’s lineup?
