Boston Celtics: Predicting final 8 games of regular season
By Sam Minton
August 11th Celtics at Grizzlies 6:30 PM
This game might not be as important in the standing as it is regarding the C’s possible draft pick.
Boston has a chance to have a lottery pick in the 2020 NBA Draft. This is all dependent on how the Grizzlies do in the final 8 games.
Basically, if the Grizzlies miss the playoffs the Celtics have a chance at a lottery pick.
The only thing stopping the C’s from getting a lottery pick then is if the Grizzlies somehow landed a top 6 pick. Then Boston would get an unprotected pick next season.
Boston’s main concern has to be handling Ja Morant. The rookie point guard is having a great season and seems to be a frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award. Morant is averaging 17.6 points and 6.9 assists per game.
Once again though The Celtics have too much overall talent and they should help their chances of getting a high draft pick this season. This should be another double-digit win for the C’s.
As they continue to get closer to the playoffs they should only get better. This seems like it could be a game where Kemba Walker could go off. After getting into the swing of things he should have some great performances.
