The New England Patriots already miss out on Stefon Diggs.

The biggest shock of the offseason was not really that Stefon Diggs was traded, it is where he was traded to.

After many rumors linking him to the New England Patriots, the Minnesota Vikings shipped the talented, young receiver to the Buffalo Bills.  With what the Viking received in return, it would’ve been a very affordable deal for Bill Belichick to pull off.

Instead, Belichick and the New England Patriots will have to gameplan to stop Diggs, which they did have some success with in 2018 when they played the Vikings.  He also has the best cornerback in the league on his side in defending the emerging playmaking star.

As big as a matchup as Stephon Gilmore vs. Stephon Diggs will be, Belichick certainly would rather have a wide receiver like Diggs on his roster.  For Patriots fans, it would’ve been great had he been a weapon for Tom Brady to throw to.

Just imagine Stefon Diggs as a No. 1 option in the Patriots offense even in 2020 with Cam Newton or Jarrett Stidham at quarterback.

Coming off a season in which he hauled in 63 receptions for 1,130 yards and 6 touchdowns, Diggs should do great things for the Buffalo Bills.  It’s just too bad that kind of production wasn’t coming in a Patriots’ uniform in 2020.

But, who knows, if he becomes available again, perhaps Bill Belichick makes it happen.
