Charlie McAvoy the Boston Bruins defensive star

The best defensemen on the ice for the Bruins was Charlie McAvoy. It was the type of play that you want to see from your future leading man on the first defensive pairing.

McAvoy assisted on Krejci’s goal in the third period but also did so much more. In Boston’s own zone he made several great plays to stop goals. McAvoy also blocked two shots.

Of course, McAvoy was also involved on offense. He had five shots on goal and looked great. Hopefully, in future games we will see McAvoy get some pucks in the net.

With Zdeno Chara continuing to get older (and looking especially old in recent games), the Bruins will need McAvoy to continue to improve. He is the future of Boston’s defense.

Losing top seed is not a big deal for the Bruins. dark. Next

So now the Bruins are in the driver’s seat but they can’t take their foot off of the gas. They need to gain momentum for what should hopefully be a long playoff run.
