Cam Newton will play big on the primetime stage

A Sunday night matchup doesn’t get any better than Bill Belichick vs. Pete Carroll and Russell Wilson vs. Cam Newton.

The latter still has something to prove to the rest of the NFL and what better stage to show the league he is a force to be reckoned with than in the spotlight of primetime football against a team like the Seattle Seahawks.

Coming off a game in which he rushed the ball for 75 yards and two touchdowns, Cam Newton will have to prove he can also do it with his arm with a lack of proven playmakers.

You better believe Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will come up with something the Seahawks haven’t seen before using the ability of Newton.  Carroll is certainly preparing his team to expect the unexpected.

"“They got a lot of stuff,” Carroll said, as transcribed by NBC Sports.  “I know that they haven’t shown, couldn’t show it all in one game.  We have to be ready for a very wide spectrum of offensive style.  It’s a difficult preparation in that regard.  At least we know what he looks like, and we know what he is as a runner because of the years past.”"

The Seattle Seahawks are very familiar with Cam Newton, but not as a New England Patriots quarterback.  Everyone knows he can create havoc on the ground, but in this game, Newton will be a little more like Tom Brady.  He will take the short stuff and take a shot down the field a few times.

Bold prediction: Cam Newton throws for over 300 yards with two passing touchdowns.
