New England Patriots bold predictions: 5 players who will raid the Raiders
Anfernee Jennings will record his first sack
With the Las Vegas Raiders featuring playmakers that include a pass-catching tight end in Darren Waller and a talented running back in Josh Jacobs, the New England Patriots linebackers will be a key factor in this game.
Do they have enough speed to defend against Jon Gruden’s West-coast offense?
A lot of that will depend on how effective and ready a young player like Anfernee Jennings is.
With most of the focus coming into the season on fellow rookie linebacker Josh Uche, Jennings may be more ready to make a contribution quicker. He made a big goal line tackle in the Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins and I’m predicting he will be more active in this Week 3 matchup in more of a pass rushing role.
If the Patriots front-seven is successful in limiting Jacobs and forcing Derek Carr to pass the ball, getting to the quarterback will then be key.
That does put the spotlight on Chase Winovich, Deatrich Wise and Derek Rivers to create some pressure on the quarterback. But the rookie will show some flash in this game, proving just why he may also be a steal in the draft.
Bold predictions: Anfernee Jennings combines for 2 tackles and records his first-career sack.
