Julian Edelman

After consistently being the Patriots best wide receiver, Julian Edelman has been awful in 2020. He isn’t even good enough to start games anymore. Edelman has only started one game this season.

Similar to Newton, things weren’t always bad for Edelman. In Week 2 he also had a great game snagging eight catches for nearly 200 yards.

But since then Edelman has been a non-factor. You barely even notice that he is out on the field.

Since his Week 2 outburst, Edelman has only been able to rack up eight receptions for 79 yards. That is just terrible considering the player that Edelman once was.

We are used to seeing Edelman get nearly 100 receptions a game. In 2020 he will be lucky to get to 50.

There is no doubt that Edelman deserves blame for the Patriots struggles. He could be injured but if he is hurt this bad he might want to think about ending his career. It’s clear that he is not the same player anymore.

So this is now the state of the Patriots in 2020. Three players who were supposed to be the top performers in the organization have put up some of the worst performances this season.
