The New England Patriots will depend on Sony Michel once again

If Sony Michel has a future with the New England Patriots, he will have an opportunity to prove that starting Sunday.

With Damien Harris out due to an ankle injury and Rex Burkhead already lost for the season, the Patriots running attack will depend on the former first-round draft pick to do a lot of the things Harris does.

Since returning from injured reserve, Michel has made some nice contributions in a limited role.  Bill Belichick has used him on special teams, and he has even had a nice catch and run that gave a glimpse that he can be a dual threat running back similar to Burkhead.

With just James White and J.J. Taylor on the depth chart entering the game, Sony Michel is going to be essential to how much success the Patriots’ offense has against a very opportunistic Miami Dolphins defense.

In what could be his last chance to prove something to the team and fans, Michel is going to have to have to be as effective as he was down the stretch in his rookie season and somehow replicate that nine-carry, 117-yard performance in Week 3 against the Las Vegas Raiders.

If the New England Patriots get that Sony Michel in this AFC East showdown against the Miami Dolphins, playoff hopes will be kept alive and the Georgia product will instill some confidence in his ability to be a factor in the offense.
