A Christmas wish for each Boston Celtics role player

Semi Ojeleye : Ojeleye has cemented himself into a defensive-minded roll-player to come off the Boston Celtics bench.

His strong figure shows as he can defend opponents in the interior and has enough speed and agility to switch onto guards around the arc and perimeter.

Semi Ojeleye has proven himself to be a relatively consistent scorer as well. He is good at finding size mismatches, and  Ojeleye has a less far-fetched wish than some of his teammates. It will be important for his wish to be to have more playing time, and a larger roll within the Celtics’ rotation.

Jeff Teague: Teague is one of the new guys for the Boston Celtics this season.

The veteran point guard has bounced around the NBA having stints in Atlanta, Indiana, and Minnesota. He now begins the next chapter with the Celtics.

Teague has proven himself to be a great role player and substitute at the guard position. The journeyman has often found himself starting at point guard or filling in for an injured starter. With Kemba Walker out for a chunk of the beginning of the season, Jeff Teague is bound to gain a lot of meaningful minutes.

His Christmas wish is for these minutes to continue throughout the season either as a starter or an early choice off the bench.

Grant Williams: Williams is a right-handed Power Forward who went 22nd overall in the 2019 NBA Draft. Though he did play in 69 games there wasn’t much to behold as he seemed to be just being a body on the court. He had a 41 percent FPG but only a 25 percent 3PG according to Basketball Reference.

If Grant Williams wants to see the floor this year, he’s going to have to prove he can shoot better and average more than 3.4 points per game. His wish is to have a better outside shooting percentage which will force opponents to guard him outside the interior opening up the lane for his teammates.

Romeo Langford: Langford was a star at Indiana University.

He was a late lottery pick, but never surmounted to anything in his rookie year.

This season he is hoping to turn this around as he needs to work on getting more production on the Celtics. However, there is an unintended consequence to his success in Indiana. Langford suffered a hand injury, and it never healed properly.

His Christmas wish list might be a little different than the rest of his teammates. He should want to get his hand to what it was before the injury.

He has already begun doing extensive physical therapy with the Boston Celtics trainers as well as spent a lot of time this off-season improving his talent for this season.
